A Saturday Full of Blessings

…behold, the Army of God!

When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. “Oh no, my lord! What shall we do?” the servant asked.

“Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”

And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

  • It is with deep sadness I share that Thomas, beloved Godfather of Eric, passed away Friday night or Saturday morning and was found alone outside. Pray for Eric and the family. I will share more as it becomes available.

Street Church Worship

This past Saturday was full of blessings all around. And when I had the chance to get home and look back I see very clearly how God had his hand on the entire day for street church and its God given mission.

Friday during the day I (joy) ended up spraining my ankle and wasn’t able to put hardly any weight on it. With the best of my amazing 8 year old son we were able to pack and bag up the 100 lunches and make 100 sandwiches for the morning. Sean did the runnning around the house and lifting while I put my leg up to try to get the swelling down. Right before bed (full of anxiety about my first time leading) I get down on my knees and pray and give my anxiety to Jesus and tell him I want to be of service but I can’t do this without you so I’ll need you to heal my ankle over night and send at least one person to help pack up the uhual ( no request to to big for him!)

I woke up the next morning and got the giant coffee pot brewing for 100 cups of coffee and I notice I’m walking with zero pain ! Just 6 hours before I couldn’t put any weight on it and now I’m walking around like nothing happen. God is good! We arrived at uhual early because I’m not sure if it will only be myself and my 8 year old loading and organizing for the day,  sure enough we get started and a woman walks by a couple times just checking out what we are doing and what is this gospel music playing and she approaches us and says “would you guys like help? I can’t remember the name of your church but I know Bryan “

And God answers another prayer! So she helps us load up the uhual . With 4 other volunteers we set up our tables and fold out alter table and put the worship music on. I was super nervous because we only had 4 volunteers (and that was including my son) But God had plans of his own. (At times I feel like the Israelites in the desert God performs a miracle then then next day stressing will God come through). His plan was small in intimate and it was a day to stretch people’s faith, connect those dots, and bring more understanding.

We read the scriptures that were given and got onto a discussions about forgiveness and setting healthy boundaries, (forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us”).  We also talked about that God asks us to come as we are and he will do the rest. I used the analogy of if we need to take a shower because we are filthy we don’t go wash up first then jump in the shower. It’s that way with God , we go to him filthy and dirty and we allow him to wash us clean. And through a process called sanctification he cleans us as the shower does one drop of water at a time . I saw the light bulbs go off and heard the “ohhh, wow I didn’t look at it like that)

I absolutely love when I see these concepts click and God will give a person understanding. Makes me wanna scream YES!!!! I can go on and on about things I see God do in street church but I know I need to wrap this section of the news letter up.  There was no baptism, no huge moment life defining moment . But I know it went according to God’s plan and can imagine as these light bulbs went off and these concepts clicked I know the angels that surrounded and protected the area of street church there must of been some high fives as we were able to better equip our friends to build up their armor to walk with Christ and will be able to hear that phrase we all dream of “ well done my good and faithful servant”
