From The Steps

How wonderful, how beautiful,

when brothers and sisters get along!…

It was such a gift to have Pastor Phil with us last week, along with many folks fron Hartford City Church! Pastor Phil and I met at a weekly prayer gathering when he and his wife were just starting the church. I appreciated his high value of prayer and Kingdom unity…and I still do!

The Lord Jesus said he did not come to bring peace, but a sword (Matthew 10:43). This sword was not meant kill, to separate… to separate us from our idols and safety nets of everything but him (Luke 14:26), and to separate all our soul and spirits from all but His will (Hebrews 4:12).

What is left after this work is Heaven on Earth, the blessed community of witness.

How wonderful, how beautiful,
when brothers and sisters get along!
It’s like costly anointing oil
    flowing down head and beard,
Flowing down Aaron’s beard,
flowing down the collar of his priestly robes.
It’s like the dew on Mount Hermon
flowing down the slopes of Zion.
Yes, that’s where God commands the blessing, ordains eternal life

                                                                            Psalm 133:1-3

Love to you all!

Bryan

Looking Ahead Prayer Requests

  • We had an amazing week with the Hartford Project! Two teams joined us last week and two more this week! All but a couple of them had never prayed or shared their faith on the street before, and I just gave them permission to be released. Such a spirit of prayer broke out among them all, and the Spirit was empowering them and bringing teams of hope and release

  • I am preaching this Friday at West Hartford Health and Rehab, Saturday at Street Church, and Sunday at Wintonbury Baptist in Bloomfield. Pray I rest in The Lord

  • Ongoing prayer for partners support

Street Church Worship (from Cynthia)

It’s always a gift to watch a pastor preach and serve along with his people downtown. We can talk about unity all we want, but if we don’t live it out it will never be blessed! It was a HOT day so we continued to meet in the shade under the trees. Phil preached on the parable of the Sower and the Seed and reminded us that all of the growth belongs to the Lord, but we must continually till the soil of our lives.

All the lunches went out to around seventy five folks and many more passers-by as always. We had nineteen volunteers downtown, and fourteen at storage, or fifteen if you count the cute little critter in the carseat!

Charlie, Franklin, Ahmed and his wife, Mrs Wonderful and others were all there. We haven’t seen Robert in a long time so keep him in prayer…

As Phil wrapped up the message and we issued the invitation as we do each week to enter into the family of Jesus through baptism, he invited any who wished to remember and renew their rebirth by coming to the fountain and dip into the waters…. and all came. and all came

Blessings,

Bryan
