“Kids knew me and my faith..."
“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young,
but set an example for the believers in speech,
in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.”
1 Timothy 4:12
I was asking my eldest daughter who graduates soon what it was like being a believer in a public school. It was our talk, but the big take away was that it was not as difficult as all the adults make it out to be. “Kids knew me and my faith. They understood I was different by the way I acted and lived. They left me alone”
….. this is walking out the faith.
Join me in also thanking a bunch of little critters at Valley Simsbury Church who collected and packed 90 snack bags for our family downtown!

Service (from Kenny)
A fantastic day of Street Church as always. We saw “Headphones Chris”, who just got a job at UHaul today! He was praising God and happy to be working. Hopefully that's a good place for him.
Geoff and I went downtown and were greeted by a very sparse crowd. But what mighty warriors of God we had - Benson, Ed, Malaree and Chi Chi!! Cheryl noticed there was nobody signed up to help today and she asked at UHaul "what do you guys do when that happens?" Geoff and I both smiled and said "God always provides exactly who we need." And sure enough, He did again.
We had a peaceful opening session and Geoff led us in the readings. I gave a word on trusting God fully, giving up control and choosing faith over fear. Multiple people (including me) were amazed at how patient and attentive everyone was the entire day. Nobody got up to get coffee and everyone respected the closed station. Afterwards, we had a really slow lunch line (due to someone dropping off a bunch of sandwiches from a nearby catering event) and again, everyone stood patiently and waited their turn. It was awesome to see.
A few people joined us for the first time and asked what we were doing there. I was able to give them our business card and brag on Jesus. Steven (frail guy with a cane) also came at the end and praised God that someone gave him their lunch because we were already out. He also said he wants to jump in and help out. Come on in, my man - it's your church!
Geoff and I unloaded the van and went our separate ways. I'm glad we were able to give Bryan a week off and time with Lisa and the fam. Everyone was asking about you as always, Bry!
Have a blessed week.

A special time of praise
Mary and I were at West Hartford Health and Rehab Community Church. The Recreation Assistant just got married (she goes to VOX!) so we were all super-excited for her! We worshipped and broke open God’s Word, one of the residents finally came to the Table with us. We love it when people across denominations worship with us! We had a new friend join us and it turns out I went to school with her daughter in town for many, many years! Such a gift to be asked to help her navigate Jesus.
As we were leaving, our friend rolled our beloved “Miss Edith” to be with us. She is the woman behind the image of the hand pressed against the glass while we had to worship apart during COVID times. It’s getting harder for her to get up so we usually go and see her, but today she was doing well and was up and dressed to the 9’s.
Her mind was not as clear as it can be but he joy is always infectious so I picked up my guitar and we sang Gospel at 11 (IFKYK). Before he left I asked her to pray, and the Deep Place opened up and she prayed like a woman who has walked with Jesus faithfully for over 80 years.
