"Today's the day. I want to be baptized."

“I am the Way and the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me… I have called you by name, you are Mine”.

John 14:6, Isaiah 43:1

Mike has been with us for many years now…

He has a story and a life and a relationship with Jesus that Jesus knows better than me.

Saturday, as soon as I got out of the van, Mike walked up to me and said “it’s time Father, today’s the day. I want to be baptized”

So I asked him the questions I do of everyone…

Do you believe Jesus is the Son of God?

Do you believe He died for you and repent your sins?

Will you strive by the power of the Holy Spirit to live a life fully and pleasing for Him?

and the Heavens rejoiced.

and we did too

Service (from Kenny)

Bryan, Joy, Sean, Jeff and Dan Lynch were at U-Haul loading up the truck. I was chatting with Marie and Neil while waiting for everyone to show up. They're such easy and lovely people to talk with.

Service itself was lovely. Brother Bensen showed up! It was so good to see him. He said he's been really busy on Saturdays but he asked for time off to attend Street Church, and it was granted. We had Eric, Crystal, Curtis, Benson and Nick do the prayers and readings. I gave a message about coming to Jesus like little children in humility and dependency. Bryan added some words after which was great, and Mike came and said today was his day to get baptized! He had told Bryan at the start of the gathering that “this was the day”.

We had a lot of people but as you'll see from the pics, they were all listening intently which was really cool. We've found that as we've gotten more intentional about asking folks to listen, they have. Hopefully it's helped change some hearts towards God in the process.

We presented Dr. B with his walker chair and he had a smile that lit up the place! He was very excited and thankful. We ate lunch and gave out underwear.

It was a great day and I'm eager to hear how next week goes.

Blessings,

Community Church updates!

Great to be with family at The Farmington Station Community Church in Farmington this past week. We sang and laughed so much you would have thought it was a cocktail hour…but these were filled with the Holy Spirit, not drunk on wine!
