“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30 (NIV Translation)
“Am I too broken to be any good?”
That was my thought for years before I finally broke and HAD to get help.
For too long in ministry I had watched leaders crash and burn and leave…or being removed.
There was little, if any, sense that if I asked for help it would be given and I could stay.
You need to be a mover, innovator, cutting edge these days… that is simply a load of crap.
God always wants faithful leaders desperate for him.
So, a few days late for “world mental health day”, I am writing to encourage you all that you do not need to hide. You can heal. There is help.
I am driving through Ukraine toward the battle. We will be a few hours away by car, but the sirens still sound….
And I am at peace.
Peace because God healed me through meds, therapy, and His Presence.
Nobody is too broken to fulfill their calling.
No one.

Street Church Worship
(from Kenny)
Hallelujah our God reigns! What a beautiful day at Street Church. We had a wonderful crew help us pack: Sue, Loren, Brian Sullivan, Gifti, Cynthia, Joy, Sean and Joy's friend Veronica. It was easy and efficient.
We got downtown and were greeted by some familiar faces: Jeff, Rick (who got baptized a few months ago), Neil and Dr. B. Neil came up to me immediately and started recounting a wonderful testimony of how a random lady told him he was blessed and he recognized it as so - despite being homeless and sleeping in Bushnell Park. He was telling of all the blessings he had - the little things like a pack for his clothes and money to wash them, food to eat. It was really cool to hear.
Sean prayed us into the day by praying for no rain and guess what... it didn't rain! God has done that time and time again - the forecast looks ugly and then He gives us a dry space for people to come hear His word. How cool is that? Sean also brought his guitar and was playing it during our worship. That was so fun. Another woman named Chichi (who came for the first time 3 weeks ago and hasn't stopped coming) brought her son, Royal, and him and Sean were having fun all day. Many people remarked how lovely it was to have kids experiencing and showcasing Jesus at Street Church.
We gave the underwear out of the van this week incase it rained. It seemed to work well. Veronica also brought bar soaps to give out.
Overall, the Lord's presence filled the space as it always does. Dr. B. recited Psalm 82 by memory - and didn't veer off into a 5 minute tangent. Rick said he got to pray with multiple people and appreciated that. Jeff led us all in prayer for Bryan, for the Lord to do His work through Bryan and the team over there.
It’s Hartford Marathon Week but we’ll still be downtown! See you Saturday.
Blessings,
-Kenny
