More news from Bryan's trip to South Korea and how gossiping isn't bad... when it's about Jesus
From Bryan at the Lausanne Conference in Seoul, South Korea
We'll just move over there!
GENERATIONAL TRANSFORMATION
“Wait, I’m really going to die in there?!”
Dawson has been with us each week for the past two months, leaning in to listen and absorbing everything. When I finished preaching last week I made the call for anyone who wishes to surrender to Christ and be baptized he came forward.
I asked him like I do all people why, and explained what it means… “you enter the waters and die and rise new in Christ.”
His eyes got huge…”wait, what? I’m gonna die in there?”
So we paused and talked, then He died and rose in new life…and I wish we all would be as shocked at the call to “come to faith” as Dawson was.
Jesus really meant it when he said come and die. Do you have any of our old life left?
“If you cling to your life, you will lose it;
but if you give up your life for me, you will find it.”
Matthew 10:19 NLT

Miscellaneous
HUGE thanks to first-time family visitor, Josey S. and her son! They signed up to make a hot meal before they even left their first time volunteering.
Praising God for a home group from Wintonbury Church who has asked to join us once per month downtown and/or at the nursing homes. This is a group full of little critters 0-6yo and they want to disciple their kids “hands-on”
The Jr High from Cornerstone Christian Academy will be joining us next month for a service day
Bryan will be in Seoul, South Korea for the 10th world gathering of the Lausanne Congress for world mission. Learn more here https://congress.lausanne.org/
Good day today. Bryan and I were joined by Crystal Hall from 180 Life at the storage unit. A gentleman came around and after some talking, Bryan came to understand he sadly lost his brother to tuberculosis after he was homeless for four months. It was that start where we knew God was putting people in our path.
We arrived at Chick-Fil-A to see Darryl (after just mentioning we hadn't seen him in a while). He introduced us to his new Director of HR who said she'd love to explore more opportunities for the employees to be involved.
Upon arriving downtown, we realized there was a day-of-voting happening inside City Hall. As we've done before, we set up to one side (drinks, food, giveaways all on the left side) so that people could have a clear path to go into the building. That worked well and is a good blueprint moving forward. We want to be respectful of the space we're given.
We were met by a woman who revealed she revealed she's a Christian Scientists Practitioner, to which Bryan proclaimed we had a cult member around us. Upon challenging her that she [wasn’t a Christian] after she professed she didn't believe Jesus is God, she got up and left in a tizzy.
Again, that kind of day. Bryan explained to her that she was welcome here but could not minister. That would deceive the sheep the Lord has given us, she needed to be called out for what she was doing.
As we got into the readings, the speakers died right as Bryan was to preach - another example of the enemy trying to shut us down. But Arthur and Max prayed for Bryan and he got through the sermon with almost no voice. Dawson came up to be baptized! It was wonderful.
People didn't really line up for lunch beforehand as they usually do. I think it's because we were playing no music, we had no mic, so everyone was gathered pretty close to the tent (also the lunch was sneakily around the corner from where it usually is due to our change in orientation). That was refreshing to see. Once we eventually got to lunch and giveaways, it was a lot more chiller than it usually is.
One of the teens who came for the first time, Sebastian, noted how awesome it was to see everyone coming together as they always do at Street Church. There were some gentlemen singing sitting under the tree, and that warmed everyone's heart.
Overall, a blessed day as always!
..from the Community Churches…
wow…for the first time there was a bit of heavy spiritual warfare at one of the communities as a staff member walked right up to me during service proclaiming “where is my wine? I want my wine today! I need my wine!” to which I replied she would have to wait for communion (we use juice) so I could be sure we had enough. She was not happy and complained to other workers. As I was handing out communion she proceeded to ask residents if they were filled with the Holy Ghost… to which I confronted her and asked what she was doing disrupting the service… to make it short I found myself in the directors office filling a complaint and “preaching” to the director.
The next day at another facility, the Spirit FELL and it was magnificent. The day before knocked me a little sideways so I had forgotten to restock the communion. We used juice and styrofoam cups and cello-wrapped crackers from the kitchen. The catholics and orthodox had no problem as I quickly taught on communion. Everyone took it. What a stark contrast to the day before. These community churches are not fun little times to hang out with cute old people. There are churches with souls and souls are desired by Satan. Not these, they belong to Jesus.
Be alert and of sober mind.
Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion
looking for someone to devour.
